Forgotten Magic
Breathing Life Into Harry Potter’s Forgotten Characters
What’s It About?
You’ll start by stepping inside J.K. Rowling’s mind — discovering the techniques she uses to make her characters feel so real they could walk off the page.
You’ll explore how she does this with some of the wizarding world’s most beloved – or hated – characters, and you’ll notice something: Rowling never stops the story to describe them. She reveals her characters in motion — through what they say, what they do, and what they can’t quite hide.
Next you’ll meet Kevin Entwhistle — a Hogwarts student Rowling dreamed up but never actually wrote into the series — and watch what happens when someone brings him into full color. Then it’s your turn.
You’ll choose a character Rowling herself invented before she even wrote the first book — some who barely made it onto the page, some never at all. Yours is waiting. You’ll imagine them into existence: what they look like, how they move through the world, what they love and avoid and pretend not to care about. And then you’ll do what Rowling does — weave all of that into a scene where your character steps out of the shadows and meets someone we already know.
Guided prompts are there if you want them. So is support. But the character? That’s entirely yours.
