This policy explains what information we collect through ucurriculum.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
The short version: we collect the minimum we need to run courses and stay in touch with families who ask us to. We do not sell your information, we do not use it for advertising, and we never use children’s information for anything other than teaching the course you enrolled in.

Who this policy covers
This policy applies to visitors to ucurriculum.com, families who join our email list, and families who enroll in a course.
Our courses are hosted on Thinkific, a third-party platform. Once you’re inside a course, Thinkific’s privacy policy also applies to the information you provide there. Their policy is available on thinkific.com.
Information we collect
When you browse the site. Standard technical information collected automatically by our web host and by the site’s analytics: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, referring site, and dates and times of visits. We use this to keep the site working and to understand which pages are useful.
When you use the course customizer. When you make your five choices and submit them, we receive the course you chose, the options you selected, the price shown, and the name and email address you provide. This is stored in a private spreadsheet that only we can access, and we’re emailed a notification so we can follow up with you.
When you join our email list. Your email address and any name you provide. Our email list is managed by Kit (formerly ConvertKit).
When you contact us. Whatever you include in your message — your name, email address, and anything you choose to tell us about your child or your situation.
When you enroll. Your name, email address, billing information, the learner’s first name, and the choices you made. Payment card details go directly to our payment processor and are never stored by us or visible to us.
Once a course begins. Any work a learner submits, messages exchanged with Nicole, participation in live sessions, and progress within the course.
Live sessions. Live classes are recorded. Recordings may include a participant’s name, image, and voice. See “Recordings” below.
We do not collect Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, or any information about a child’s health, disability status, or educational diagnoses unless you volunteer it to us in a message — and if you do, we use it only to help you shape a course around your child.
Children’s privacy
This is the part we take most seriously.
Accounts belong to parents. Enrollment is a transaction between uCurriculum and an adult. When you enroll, the account is yours. If your child accesses the course, they do so through the account you created and control.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without a parent or guardian’s consent. Where a child under 13 participates in a course, we treat the parent’s enrollment and continued involvement as that consent, and the parent may review or request deletion of their child’s information at any time by emailing us.
What we do with a child’s information. We use a learner’s first name and submitted work only to teach the course — to give feedback, respond to questions, track progress if you’ve chosen that, and issue a course summary or certificate if you’ve chosen those. That’s the whole list.
What we never do. We never sell or rent children’s information. We never use it for advertising or behavioral targeting. We never share a child’s work, name, image, or voice publicly, in marketing, or with other families without asking a parent first and getting a yes.
Deletion. Contact us here and we will delete your child’s information, subject to any records we’re legally required to keep (like payment records). We’ll confirm when it’s done.
How we use information

- To process payments and keep required financial records
- To send you information about the course you’re enrolled in
- To send email you’ve asked for — course announcements and occasional notes from uCurriculum
- To answer messages you send us
- To understand which parts of the site are useful and improve them
- To protect the site and enforce our Terms and Conditions
- To comply with the law
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with advertisers. We do not use your information or your child’s information to train advertising models or profile you across other websites.
Who we share information with
We use a small number of service providers to run the business. Each receives only what it needs to do its job:

We may also disclose information if we’re required to by law, or if we believe it’s necessary to protect someone’s safety or to protect our legal rights. If uCurriculum is ever sold or transferred, information may transfer with it, and we’d tell you before that happened.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses cookies — small files stored in your browser — to keep the site functioning and to gather anonymous statistics about how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; some parts of the site may not work correctly if you do.
We do not run advertising cookies or third-party ad trackers on this site.
If you join our list, we’ll email you about the course you expressed interest in, plus occasional notes from uCurriculum. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. Unsubscribing from marketing email doesn’t stop transactional email about a course you’re actively enrolled in — receipts, access details, and feedback on submitted work.
Recordings
Live classes are recorded so families who couldn’t attend can watch later, and so learners can revisit a session. Recordings are shared only with families enrolled in that course.
If you’d prefer your child not appear in a recording, tell us before the session and we’ll work out an arrangement — attending with camera and microphone off, or watching the recording afterward instead. We won’t use any recording in marketing or make it public without asking you first.
How long we keep information
- Course records and submitted work: for the duration of your access period and up to [NUMBER] year(s) afterward, so we can reissue a course summary, certificate, or grade record if you need one for your files
- Payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires
- Email list: until you unsubscribe
- Customizer submissions: up to [NUMBER] year(s), so we can follow up and understand what families are looking for
- Website analytics: in aggregate, indefinitely
You can ask us to delete your information sooner. Email us.
Your choices and rights
Whatever state or country you’re in, you can contact us here and ask us to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you or your child
- Correct anything that’s wrong
- Delete your information or your child’s information
- Stop sending you email
- Give you a copy of your information
We’ll respond within 30 days. We won’t charge you, and we won’t treat you differently for asking.
Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other states with privacy laws have these rights by statute, including the right not to have personal information sold — which is straightforward here, because we don’t sell it. Residents of the EU and UK have rights under GDPR, including the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Security
We use industry-standard protections: encrypted connections, access controls, and reputable service providers. No method of storing or transmitting information online is completely secure, and we can’t promise absolute security. If a breach ever affected your information, we’d notify you as required by law.
Information stored in the United States
uCurriculum operates from the United States and our service providers store information here. If you’re using the site from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
Links to other sites
Our courses link out to books, videos, articles, and other resources. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this policy doesn’t cover them.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update this page when our practices change, and we’ll update the effective date at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle your information or your child’s, we’ll email enrolled families.
