Terms and Conditions

Welcome. These terms cover your use of ucurriculum.com and any course you enroll in. By using the site or enrolling in a course, you agree to what’s below.
We’ve written this in plain language on purpose. If anything is unclear, contact us here and we’ll explain it.
1. Who can enroll
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. Courses are for learners of any age, but a parent or legal guardian enrolls, pays, holds the account, and is responsible for the learner’s use of the course.
If you’re enrolling on behalf of a child, you’re confirming that you have the authority to do so and that you agree to these terms on their behalf.
2. Your account
Keep your login details private. Your account is for one family — the learner you enrolled and the adults responsible for them. Sharing login details outside your household, or enrolling one learner and having several use the course, isn’t permitted.
You’re responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else has access to it.
3. The five choices and how pricing works
Every course is customized across five choices — content, engagement, feedback, community, and timeline — made before you buy. The price updates as you make those choices and reflects what you selected. There is no single fixed price for a course, and the price you’re quoted applies to the specific combination you chose.
Prices are in U.S. dollars and may change at any time for future enrollments. A change never affects a course you’ve already paid for.
Education savings accounts and charter funds: we don’t currently accept ESA, charter, or similar third-party education funds. We’re working toward accepting them in 2027 and will announce it when it’s in place.
4. Payment
Payment is due at enrollment and is processed by Paypal, not by us. We never see or store your card details. Access to a course begins once payment clears.
If a payment fails or is charged back, we may suspend access until it’s resolved.
5. How long you have access
You have access to an enrolled course for one year per learner, starting on the date access is granted, unless we’ve told you otherwise in writing for that specific course.
We’ll do our best to give notice before access ends. If you need more time, ask — we handle extensions case by case and we’re not stingy about it.
Course materials remain available during your access period, but we can’t promise any individual video, link, or third-party resource will stay available for the whole time, since some are outside our control.
6. Changing your choices after you enroll
You can ask to change your five choices after enrolling — adding feedback partway through, moving to a live class, and so on. We handle these case by case. If your new choices cost more, we’ll invoice the difference before making the change. If they cost less, we’ll work out a fair adjustment with you.
Email us. We’d rather adjust the course than have it stop fitting.
7. Refunds
Refunds are handled case by case. If something isn’t working — the course isn’t right for your child, life took a turn, we got something wrong — tell us what happened and we’ll sort it out with you.
To ask for a refund, email [email protected] and tell us what’s going on. We’ll respond within 7 business days.
We may decline a refund where a course has been substantially completed, where materials have been downloaded in full, or where these terms have been violated.
8. Live classes and one-on-one sessions
If you chose a live class or one-on-one sessions:
- Live classes run at scheduled times. Sessions are recorded and shared with enrolled families.
- One-on-one sessions are 45 minutes and are booked through the link we provide.
- Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to reschedule a one-on-one session. Sessions missed without notice may not be made up.
- If Nicole has to cancel a session, it will be rescheduled or credited.
- If you’d prefer your child not appear in a recording, tell us beforehand and we’ll arrange it.
9. Materials
Each course includes a materials list. Books, supplies, and any subscriptions noted there are your responsibility to obtain and are not included in the course price unless we’ve said so explicitly.
10. What you can and can’t do with course content
Everything in a course — written lessons, videos, worksheets, PDFs, images, activities, assessments, and the structure of the course itself — belongs to uCurriculum or is used with permission, and is protected by copyright.
You may: use the materials for the enrolled learner in your own household, print copies for that learner’s use, and keep your copies after the course ends for that learner’s records.
You may not: share, post, email, upload, or distribute the materials to anyone outside your household; use them with a co-op, class, tutoring group, or any other set of learners you haven’t enrolled; sell, resell, or sublicense them; upload them to file-sharing sites or AI training datasets; or create and distribute derivative versions.
If you’d like to use a course with a group, get in touch — we’re glad to talk about group licensing.
“uCurriculum” and the uCurriculum logo are our trademarks and may not be used without permission.
11. Work your child submits
Your child’s work belongs to your child. By submitting it, you give us permission to read it, respond to it, and store it for the purpose of teaching the course.
We will not publish, quote, or share a learner’s work, name, image, or voice in marketing or publicly without asking you first and getting a clear yes. That includes testimonials.
12. Conduct
We expect everyone in a course — learners and adults — to be kind and respectful. We may remove someone from a live session or a course, without refund, for harassment, threats, hate speech, sharing others’ private information, disrupting others’ learning, or violating these terms.
We reserve the right to decline or end an enrollment. If we end one for reasons other than conduct, we’ll refund the unused portion.
13. What uCurriculum is — and isn’t
Please read this section closely.
We are not a school. uCurriculum is not an accredited institution, and we are not licensed as a school by any state. Courses are enrichment and curriculum materials, not enrollment in an educational institution.
Certificates and grades are records, not credentials. If you choose grading, we’ll provide a grade, a course summary, and a certificate of completion. These are documentation for your own records. We can’t guarantee any school, district, college, or state authority will accept or transfer them, and acceptance is entirely up to them.
Compliance with your homeschool law is your responsibility. Requirements for homeschooling — subjects, hours, testing, reporting, record-keeping — vary by state and country and change over time. It’s your responsibility to know what your jurisdiction requires and to determine whether a uCurriculum course helps you meet it. We don’t provide legal advice and don’t warrant that any course satisfies any legal requirement.
No guaranteed outcomes. We believe deeply in this work, but we can’t promise particular academic results, test scores, skill gains, or admissions outcomes. Learning depends on the learner.
Not professional advice. Nothing in a course or in correspondence with us is medical, psychological, educational-diagnostic, or legal advice. Nicole holds a degree in special education and thirty years of experience modifying curriculum, and is glad to think through a fit with you — but that’s a conversation between an educator and a parent, not a professional evaluation or a treatment plan.
14. Safety and supervision
Some courses include hands-on activities — cooking, experiments, building, outdoor observation. You are responsible for supervising your child and judging what’s safe and appropriate for them. Follow the safety notes we provide and use your own judgment on top of them.
15. Third-party platforms and links
Courses are delivered through Thinkific and may use other third-party tools for video, scheduling, and payment. Your use of those platforms is also governed by their own terms. Courses link to outside books, videos, and websites we don’t control; we’re not responsible for their content or availability.
16. Site availability
We aim to keep the site and courses running, but we can’t promise uninterrupted access. Hosting, platforms, and the internet occasionally fail. We may also take things offline for maintenance or updates. If an outage meaningfully affects your access, tell us and we’ll make it right.
17. Everything is provided “as is”
To the fullest extent the law allows, the site and courses are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
18. Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or lost data.
- Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the site or a course will not exceed the amount you paid us for that course in the twelve months before the claim.
Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limits, in which case they apply to the maximum extent permitted there. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or anything else that can’t be limited by law.
19. Your responsibility to us
You agree to cover our reasonable costs, including legal fees, if a claim arises from your violation of these terms, your misuse of course materials, or your violation of someone else’s rights.
20. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts, and you agree to that jurisdiction.
Before anything formal: email us. Almost everything is fixable in a conversation, and we’d like the chance to have one.
21. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we’ll change the effective date at the top, and we’ll email enrolled families about material changes. Continuing to use the site or a course after an update means you accept the revised terms. Changes never apply retroactively to a course you’ve already paid for.
22. The rest
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we don’t enforce something right away, we haven’t given up the right to enforce it later. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us. You can’t transfer your enrollment to someone else without our written okay.
