What’s It About?
This course starts with a question: what actually has to happen, biologically, for a puppy to be born?
You’ll explore the canine reproductive process from the ground up — the estrus cycle, hormone levels, conception, and how pregnancy is confirmed — before following that thread through the full gestational period, tracking how a fetus develops week by week from conception to birth.
You’ll get a front-row seat to development you’d otherwise never see. Through a virtual gestational ultrasound, you’ll witness fetal development directly, and you’ll learn to recognize the signs of labor and understand what the birthing process actually involves — the science behind one of the most dramatic biological events there is.
And this isn’t just theory — it’s real. Alongside the science, you’ll follow real photo and video documentation of the facilitator’s actual breeding dog, watching pregnancy, birth, and the earliest days of puppyhood unfold. You’ll see the biology you’re learning about play out in front of you, from a single cell all the way to a litter of newborn puppies.
